Hi All,

On Saturday 11th June I was invited to the beautiful interiors heaven that is INSIDE OUT, to make a short presentation at a small, intimate wedding mixer event they hosted.  This is one of my favourite stores on island to get lost in and build my dream home (mentally only for now). I am OBSESSED with their products and every time I go there I fall in love with a number of items.

I was honoured to be part of this fabulous afternoon, which was promoting Inside Outs’ Gift Registry Service. They had gone above & beyond -and besides browsing the interiors available, guests were able to taste cake from the ever-amazing Sweet Dreams Custom Cakes, canapés from the popular Orlando’s, sample wines from Belvoir Estates and enjoy a private jewellery viewing with Colombian Emeralds International.  I was asked to prepare a short presentation as a wedding ‘expert’, offering some advice and tips for planning a wedding. I decided not to focus on the standard checklist- which is something the guests could google- but instead provide them with Do’s and Don’t’s for both the planning process and the big day itself from a ‘behind the scenes, planners experience’ point of view. I know what questions I get asked most often and areas brides totally forget to think about or plan,I know what gets forgotten and what hiccups tend to happen so i wanted to let these brides in on those secrets. We met some lovely brides-to-be and I had some great conversations with other people in the event industry- so a very productive afternoon overall.

I mentioned in my presentation the importance of ‘quality over quanity’ by which I mean the misconception/assumption that you need 1000 pieces of paper in a wedding file to be organised. I often get looks of concern when I show up with my small pocket folder which contains everything for a clients’ wedding. I work from one master list which I put together and adapt accordingly depending on the venue/size/ style of wedding. I usually provide this for clients but have adapted one to be more general for you to use in  your own wedding planning. Please feel free to save and share this with friends and family- master template Sheet1

I will be editing this post in the next few days to include the other tips and tricks I gave including the websites to get cut price wedding decor and supplies.

Enjoy for now,
